Claim maintenance for wife, children or parents
A person with sufficient means cannot neglect a wife, children or parents who are unable to maintain themselves. Under Section 144 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (earlier Section 125 CrPC) and other laws, the court can order monthly maintenance — including interim maintenance while the case is pending.
