Police not registering your FIR?

For cognizable offences, the police must register an FIR. Under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, information can also be given electronically in many cases. If the police still refuse, you can complain to the Superintendent or Deputy Commissioner of Police, and then apply to the Magistrate to direct registration.
