Privacy policy and terms for your app or website
If your app or website collects personal data or sells online, Indian law expects clear terms, a privacy policy, a grievance officer and — for e-commerce — refund and seller details. Copy-pasted templates often miss the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. A lawyer drafts documents that fit how your product actually works.

FAQ
Privacy policy and terms for your app or website: common questions
Is a privacy policy mandatory in India?+
Yes. Businesses that collect personal data online must publish a privacy policy, and the DPDP Act adds detailed notice and consent requirements.
Can I copy another website's terms?+
It's risky — copied terms may not match your business and can themselves be copyright-protected. Documents should reflect your actual data use and services.
Is it free to submit my problem on LawPaw?+
Yes. Telling us your problem and getting a call back from your coordinator is free. You pay only if you decide to go ahead.
What will I have to pay?+
Up to three things, all told to you in writing before you pay: (1) LawPaw's convenience fee for coordinating your matter, (2) the professional's fee, which they quote, and (3) government charges such as court fees or stamp duty, at actual cost. GST applies as per law. There are no hidden charges.
