Insurance claim rejected or underpaid?
Many claim rejections — for alleged non-disclosure, pre-existing conditions or technical reasons — can be challenged. You can escalate to the insurer's grievance cell, then the Insurance Ombudsman, or approach the consumer commission. A lawyer reviews the policy wording and rejection letter to build your case.

FAQ
Insurance claim rejected or underpaid?: common questions
What is the Insurance Ombudsman?+
A free forum for individual policyholders to resolve complaints against insurers, including claim rejections, without going to court.
Can an insurer reject a claim for pre-existing disease?+
Only as the policy terms and IRDAI rules allow. After the moratorium period of continuous coverage, health claims generally can't be contested for non-disclosure, except for proven fraud.
Is it free to submit my problem on LawPaw?+
Yes. Telling us your problem and getting a call back from your coordinator is free. You pay only if you decide to go ahead.
What will I have to pay?+
Up to three things, all told to you in writing before you pay: (1) LawPaw's convenience fee for coordinating your matter, (2) the professional's fee, which they quote, and (3) government charges such as court fees or stamp duty, at actual cost. GST applies as per law. There are no hidden charges.
